PERFECT GIFT
If you’re having troubles trying to find that PERFECT gift for someone, BUY THEM AN AMAZON GIFT CARD!Every year, it gets harder and harder to find those perfect gifts for the kids. It seems they ask for something, then by the time X-mas gets here, their taste in things has completely taken a 180! Every year, my husband and I buy them a bunch of little things so they have things to open on Christmas morning. They also all get an Amazon gift card and the ability to either save up, or purchase what they want. Not only does Amazon make this completely flexible, but this teaches our kids the importance of saving up and making financial decisions. Being able to see balances going up and down in exchange for “objects” has really helped teach them responsibility and decision making.

A hack to make third party gift and debit cards more useful….
If someone gives you a gift card, it will likely have limits of use—a maximum value that can be hard to see, an expiration date…all in all, it may be so fussy to use that many folks don’t even bother.But here’s what you can do.Once you have the card, add it to your payment methods on Amazon.Then use the gift card’s total available balance to “reload” your Amazon gift card balance.You can load ANY amount via Amazon’s “one time reload” function. It doesn’t have to be $25 or any other specific number. You can load $2.03 if you wish.Once you’ve transferred the balance to your Amazon gift card you can delete the third party gift card.And now you can use those funds on Amazon however you wish. Amazon will just automatically allocate the balance against any purchases until the total balance has been spent.No more trying to figure out how to buy something to the exact amount on the gift card, no more expiration dates….all in all,, no more hassle.

The Amazon Gift Card Balance Reload takes currency from your bank account and places it into a digital Amazon account. It’s a 1:1 conversion, as best I know.I think of it identical to other ecommerce platforms like VALVe’s Steam, any number of video games that have cash shops, Apple account balance, and whatever else.The only issue I’ve had is that I need to empty out my shopping cart on Amazon. I can’t use the Gift Card Balance until I empty my shopping cart. Maybe it’s some sort of bug or quirk relevant to 2024, but it’s how things are for me now. Still, I’m aware of this and so it’s a 5-star purchase for me.If you want to gift anyone who maybe doesn’t have their own bank account, for instance, this is good for that.It does seem it cannot be used to purchase gift cards.I consider this exceptionally potent.
