Simple Upgrade for Lousy TV Sound
Toslink is a single line optical interface between your TV and sound system. Once connected, the TV’s local speaker is cut off, and you will be using your amplifier’s sound to provide TV audio. If you have a good audio system, the improvement is immediately noticeable, especially on music broadcasts.However, unless you have very sure hands, the cable is tricky to plug in, especially the TV connection. I ended up using a narrow gauge pair of needlenose pliers to fit the cable plug into the TV’s optical socket. At its relatively low price, the Toslink is a real bargain. Highly recommended.

Always Count on Amazon Basics
I used two of these as part of a project to connect a 4K HDR Projector to an optical extender to a Denon AVR receiver for a home theater. Can always count on Amazon basics for stuff like this. The connectors and cable are good – good sheathing – worked perfectly.

Connected easily between tv and sound box. Loved the choices given for length. Only downside, plastic covering on fiber is considerably thicker than my original, making a bit harder to “hide” cable.

My Hisense tv routinely had issues with HDMI-arc which would glitch with my and system and console. I ordered this and easily connected it. After switching off Bluetooth functionality it worked like a charm. No more glitches! Just stable streaming and gaming. The sound is great and while the Dolby atmos might be impacted I did not notice a difference. The only downside is sacrificing my ability to connect Bluetooth headphones at night without changing settings.If your tv and sound are acting up, give this a try!
