Outside, a howling blizzard. Inside, a crackling fire. Suddenly, being snowbound with the man she never expected to see again might not be such a bad way to spend a winter’s night.

Short & Sweet
Jamie has known Marc literally his whole life. She’s always had a soft spot for him & he’s always been head over heels for her (even though she’s clueless/in denial about it). This is your classic best friend’s brother with a touch of miscommunication trope. It’s a cute, quick read that’s surprisingly emotional.I thought this was an excellent little novella, but it was way too short! I would have loved a few more chapters at the end and maybe even an epilogue. ð

Cute, with a little spice
First of all, the character development was great for a short story! We really got to see why Marc and Jamie have such kinetic energyâ¦maybe Marc is a little creepy at one point, you decide! lolSecond, we really get invested in their professional and personal lives. I feel like maybe some women will really relate to Jamie hereâ¦all her worries of insecurity, not wanting to fail, avoiding relationship bc people just leave anyway, etc.. Very relatable and easy to cheer them on !Third, I saw some mixed feelings abt the writing style. I think you have to remember the format. It was train-of-thought writing, which works well in shorts I think. It might feel like a bunch of run on sentences, but really itâs just fast paced with a few well placed adjectives and descriptors to set the stage. The other big difference with a short story is that the author doesnât do as much scene setting as in longer novels. She didnât go into a description of a beautiful farm home, with a wrap around porch where wooden rocking chairs are frozen in place, now only silent observers to the chaotic stormâ¦itâs a short story so we just have to make up all the scenery in our head and author focused on the 2 characters. So if you like to be immersed in the beautiful details of scenery and multiple characters, then the shorts might fall short for you. 😉

short and sweet
So cute! Yes this book is all about being locked together during a snow storm and there really is nothing other than them realizing they should be together but it was a very easy, short, and cute read!I definitely will be checking out another book by this author!

Quick, nice read
Cruel Winter with You is a perfect short novella for a quick, cheesy read. Though brief, I thoroughly enjoyed following Marc and Jamie’s story. Ali Hazelwood has a talent for making readers smile and swoon, and I lost count of how often I was grinning while reading.

I need more of Jamie and Marc
This was such a cute fun heartwarming read. I love the progression of Jamieâs and Marcâs relationship. All the flashbacks of their childhood, Marcâs unwavering love for Jamie and her loving him, but being scared of losing him, just beautifully written. For a short story, it was well written, the characters were so rich and dynamic. Lots of laugher and just warmth and the romance was the right amount of spice, but the journey there was the best part. Ali Hazelwood has fast become one of my favorite authors.

Romantic Christmas Story
I love this author and she does not disappoint with this story. It is an easy read about 2 people who have known one another their whole lives and the only reason they arenât together is missed connection essentially. There is a bit of an awkward element, some vague reference to mental health and some indication of parents neglect but the story itself isnât too serious. It is a fun read and ends on a spicy note.Overall, I recommend reading this story. It is a great palate cleanser or just a fun holiday romance.

A great start to this series!
Under the Mistletoe is a collection of five Amazon-Original holiday-themed stories published this month, penned by well-known authors in the romance genre. Cruel Winter With You by Ali Hazelwood is novella 1/5.Jamie Malek has always shared a love/hate relationship with her best friendâs younger brother, Marc Compton, and the last time they saw each they did not part on good terms. So, when a snowstorm leaves them stranded together on Christmas Eve, old resentments flare, and sparks fly. Can Jamie and Marc resolve their differences this Christmas?Cruel Winter With You was my first book by Ali Hazelwood and I was really impressed by her writing and canât wait to read more by her. This one was a sexy open-door romance but tastefully done. I loved that thorough backstories were provided for the characters relationship given the short length of the story. Maybe Marc was kind of obsessed with Jamie, dropped too many f-bombs for my taste, and did the author really have to make him a billionaire? But it was supposed to be a Christmas fantasy, so Iâm not too bothered it wasnât entirely realistic.

Ali Hazelwood does it again
I donât understand how Ali does it. Iâll preface this review by saying I had no idea this was a short story but she did not leave me disappointed. I still got to fall in love with the characters, they had depth and even with the limited number of pages I still felt like I knew them. The book didnât feel rushed, the best part was she could have made this a full length novel. Itâs almost as if I was reading a shorter version and still getting all the best parts. Definitely recommend! Itâs not too long and itâll leave you smiling, aww-ing, or both (like me).

Una historia cortita, en tiempo de navidad, donde vamos conociendo a los protagonistas en una noche su vida a travez de los años, hasta que termina tal y como debe ser.

It was a nice sweet story I liked it jumping back and forth at different time frames of their relationships.
