Beautiful second chance love story
Variation by Rebecca Yarros4.5/5âï¸2/3ð¶ï¸ (spice)3/3ð¦ (swoon)â¢My Thoughtsâ¢I loved this one. I adore Rebeccaâs contemporary writing and am always immediately sucked into the story. I always adore a military MMC and Hudson was no exception – full butterfly swoon, friends! I loved our MCs second chance and how Hudson was ALL IN. Allie was a bit icy, super talented and showed such capacity for loyalty and kindness. I was rooting for her so hard! There were a few mysteries to unravel (shout out to Nikki for letting me ramble all my thoughts) and so much drama. I was extremely invested in the story even though it became a little over the top with everything that was going on. I absolutely loved the window into the world of ballet. It was woven in so beautifully and it was so interesting to follow the highs and lows of that world. The family dynamic was pretty complicated on both sides with past traumas and baggage. The sibling relationships were both beautiful and tough. There was at least one new character added to my *throat punch on sight* list and a few that Iâm still side eyeing but over all a GREAT cast of characters and a couple I hoped so hard to make it. Loved this one!ðï¸Narration Notesðï¸I mostly eyeball read this book but since the audiobook is included with KU, I did turn in occasionally. I thought Carly Robins and Teddy Hamilton did a great job. This might be one of my favorite Teddy performances, he did Hudson really well. Carly did a great job too and this will definitely go on my audio reread list!

Beautiful Story
ð©°ð¤ð©°ðReviewð4.25ððBook 72/100ð Variationð«Genre:Fiction/Romanceâï¸Author: Rebecca YarrosðSynopsis ðAllie is an elite ballerina who at the moment has to go back home to rest and do some rehabilitation. Hudson, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer, still carries a torch for her and learns sheâs back in town. Do they work through their issues or do all the secrets keep them apart..ððMy Thoughts ðThis book was beautiful! I really loved Hudson and his niece so much. Allie was a pushover but she was still a very likable FMC. I couldnât stand her mother, and itâs one of the reasons I could not rate it a 5. Allie lacked a backbone and let her mother control her life to an exaggerated extent. I also believe in faith but over a decade of waiting for the LOML doesnât seem realistic, but I still loved this story. The plot was amazing and had so much depth which gave me The Notebook vibes. There was a lot of details into ballet and rescue swimmers which I appreciated. I loved the dual POV and loved his chapters the most, and Iâm a sucker for second chance romance and fake dating stories. The grief part of losing a loved one was also a good addition to it because it gave it more sentiment.

I am in awe. The story is sooooo good.
As I write this review, I’m exhausted. The last two nights I was up well past my bedtime, consuming the pages of Variation. So well written. Even though I know nothing about the art of a ballerina dancer, I loved the storyline and the intensity of emotions, mostly withheld by the characters, but felt by the reader. I’ve finished the paperback, I’ve purchased the ebook and have already started listening on Audible. This is a story that kept me turning pages, but now that I’m done, I wish I had read slower pace to have savored the words and the emotions. Secrets are unraveled, even secrets that the reader glosses over until it is spelled out and then we ask ourselves how we missed that. The characters feel so real, that you find yourself thinking about them when you should be doing other things, like, at work, on the job. I am in awe of Rebecca Yarros. She has written a book that is so much better than any review I could write for it.

Might be my favorite Rebecca Yarros book yetâ¦
You know how sometimes you have reading plans and you see a new book and it throws off your TBR? Thatâs how it is for me with my posting schedule. I have a plan, and then boom I read a book and I change plans because I just HAVE to tell you all.ð ðð¼ð¼ð¸ ðð»ð³ð¼ð¿ðºð®ðð¶ð¼ð»: Variation by Rebecca Yarrosð ð¦ð²ð¿ð¶ð²ð: Standaloneð ð¥ð²ð®ð±ð¶ð»ð´ ðð²ðð®ð¶ð¹ð: E-book and audiobook on Kindle. ð on KU.ð ðð²ð»ð¿ð²: Contemporary romanceð ð§ð¿ð¼ð½ð²ð: Second chance, family drama, coast guard MMC, ballerina FMC, one bed, friends-to-lovers.ð ð¦ðð»ð¼ð½ðð¶ð: With her ballet career on the rocks, Allie returns to Cape Cod to rehab in private. But she doesnât realize sheâs sharing the same space as Hudson, her best friend who ghosted her after a grisly accident a decade ago.ð ð¥ð²ðð¶ð²ð: Sigh, this was just such a well-written book.If you have only read Rebecca Yarros as a romantasy writer, I highly highly recommend reading her contemporary work. It always slaps – excellent plot lines, great characters, always some harrowing moments or emotions, and the kind of romance that leaves your chest hurting.Variation was all of that and more.I loved the little world Yarros created. Deep inside the world of dance and its harsh realities. Deep inside the Rousseau family and their relationships. I loved the secrets and the (quite a few) twists and turns. Most of all I loved Hudsonâs hopelessly romantic POV, as he pined and pined for Allie. As he let Allie become who she truly should be. As he forged relationships with her family. It was so well done.Bonus points that Teddy Hamilton and Carly Robbins did an excellent job with the narration.ð¥ð®ðð¶ð»ð´: 5/5 âââââð¦ð½ð¶ð°ð² ðð²ðð²ð¹: 3/5 ð¶ð¶ð¶

Easy and breezy romance
This was an easy read for me. It was not anything special, but as per usual, Rebecca Yarros language was so easy to read, and pages kept turning and turning and turning. Feel good, keep interested, good amount of spice.

This was an awesome read. I loved everything about it. It kept me hooked and interested the entire time. The beginning was a little slow to pick up for me but I was also distracted at the time but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. Another book Rebecca has nailed for me. Every single one I’ve read of her so far has been fantastic!

I came across this author this year loved her style of writing and Dragon series read the first two waiting for next month for the third. So thought I would look for other books come across two independent books in my kindle unlimited, double bonus with Audible.Great Audible (the man’s voice reminded me of the man reading twilight jacob for some reason easy steady) that is Hudson characters steady but heart sick. This book very different to my last reads of Rebecca’s, no supernatural, Its focus is two characters Allie and Hudson, yes it’s a best friends to enemy’s because of secrets and hurts, but it is also about two familys (with a controlling mother on the dance side family) with a loss and a mystery to solve, it is a beautiful tragic love story but do have a happy feel at the end.I did keep hoping the sister was living a life away from the controlling mother somewhere, but nope sadly it would not fit as the more I read on.A great read

I guess many of us discovered Rebecca Yarros from Fourth Wing but I wanted to try her contemporary romances for a while now, so what better place to start than her latest release, Variation, and OH MY GOODNESS ð±ð. Itâs safe to say that I will be going on a RY binge fest in December, so bear with me ðVariation⦠itâs a book about a ballerina with 3 other sisters who also dance and a legendary ballerina mother who sets impossible standards for them, nothing short of perfection is enough for herâ¦When Allie is 16, sheâs meets Hudson and they become best friends who have feelings for each other only two years later for tragedy to strike and Hudson making the biggest mistake of his lifeâ¦11 years later, Allie now a famous principal, suffers an injury and returns to her summer house in Cape Cod to rehabilitate and her paths cross with the only man she ever loved and who obliterated her heart. But Hudson is determined to hold on this time, doing everything in his power to earn Allieâs forgiveness for his greatest regret. This book will consume you, the family dynamics a pivotal part in this book, will make you question if we really MUST forgive our siblings or parents when they hurt us. It makes you question how far can someone be pushed before they break. I didnât always agree with how much leeway Allie gave her sisters, I donât know if I had the strength to deal with Eva the way Allie did.And Hudson⦠oh my god ð. He loved Allie for 11 years and when she finally found out what he did, I felt so sorry for himðIf you love a deeply emotional, angsty story with characters that are very flawed, yet so damn real, you must read Variation.

I don’t have words to describe how flawless Rebecca writes. It’s like poetry. The story is a mixture of romance, mystery, and drama. It’s perfect. I love Rebecca. She’s truly Gifted.

Rebecca Yarros does it again with Variation! This adds a fresh twist to her signature style, blending heartfelt romance, emotional depth, and just the right amount of angst. Her characters leap off the page, their chemistry so electric youâll swear you can feel it.The plot keeps you hooked from start to finish, with moments that will make you laugh, cry, and gasp. Yarros has an uncanny ability to balance tension and tenderness, making every chapter an emotional rollercoaster you donât want to get off.If youâre already a fan of Yarros, this book will only deepen your love for her work. And if youâre new to her stories, this is the perfect gateway to a world of unforgettable characters and gripping narratives. Highly recommend! 5 stars.
