ZAHARA

Is it possible to fall for a man you don’t know?

Before I saw his face,
Or heard his voice,
Or felt the warmth of his touch,
I fell in love with his mind.
Devious. Cunning. Deceptive .

The master of deadly and dangerous plans.
The silent threat no one saw coming.
Manipulating people’s lives like pawns on a chessboard.

When he steps out of the shadows,
The king reclaiming his throne,
He sets the world aflame,
And burns my heart to ash.

MASSIMO

After eighteen years,
I finally got my freedom back.
My dark empire was waiting.
Primed for me to take the reins.

I’ll punish the traitors who stole my life.
And make them feel true pain.
The era of peace is over.
I’m ready to unleash mayhem.

But I left one prison,
Only to be trapped again,
In a battle between my conscience and my desire.

The one thing I desire above all else,
I can never have.

My sweet angel.
My magnificent queen.
My Zahara.

The Perfectly Imperfect is a series of interconnected standalones, where books can be read in any order. However, Sweet Prison (Book 10, Massimo & Zahara’s story) was written as a companion to Darkest Sins (Book 9, Kai & Nera’s story), and I strongly recommend reading the duet in tandem and proper order.

Zahara

Is it possible to fall in love with a man before even laying eyes on him?

I was drawn to his intellect before I knew his face, his voice, or the warmth of his touch. He was a mastermind, cunning and deceptive, with plans that could manipulate the lives of those around him.

When he emerged from the shadows, he was like a king reclaiming his throne, setting the world ablaze and burning my heart to ashes.

After 18 long years, I finally broke free from my prison. But my dark empire was waiting for me, primed and ready to be reclaimed.

I vowed to punish those who stole my life and make them feel true pain. The era of peace was over, and I was ready to unleash chaos.

But in my quest for revenge, I found myself trapped in a battle between my conscience and my desire. And there was one thing I desired above all else, something I could never have.

My sweet angel, my magnificent queen, my Zahara…

    Slow burn and scorching chemistry.
Slow burn with scorching chemistry and tons of angst – this book delivers it all in spades! Author did it again, next book in series that completes perfectly her universe – im truly in awe. This book was amazing ride filled with secrets and unexpected twists that made my heart stopped. The hints that author gave us in previous book growing up into beautiful and unique love story that will stay forever in my heart. Massimo and Zara are so much more than I expected, I cannot believe how fast I’ve devoured this book ! It is page turner and I cannot wait what next book will bring – the last chapters made me giggle so much.

nice book could be a great one
i love neva, i am a huge fan and i was really looking forward to reading the book , i even pre ordered it months before release date. The plot was decent but the letter correspondence was too long. 50 percent of the book she was writing about fabrics. and 18 years locked up in jail, no wonder he suffered from a multiple personalities and was talking to himself. you can create an unstable character without turning him into schizophren , and out of nowhere he fell in love with her. The sex in front of his capos was out of place . seriously?! a man who is that obsessed doesn’t mind his colleagues to watch his woman going Down on him? too much. in overall, i m looking forward to the next book.

    She did it again…
Neva Altaj has written yet another gripping story full of heat, passion, intrigue and angst. I can’t get enough of her books and wait with bated breath for the next one to come out. While I wish I could rush her process, every story is absolutely worth waiting for and Sweet Prison is no exception.I loved following Zahara as she came into her own and learned to embrace herself. Our dark hero, Massimo, never stood a chance. And that “alter ego” was a hoot.

    Loved it!
Sweet Prison is the tenth book of the Perfectly Imperfect series and can be read as a standalone. This book had me hooked just by the tropes alone! Age gap, step-siblings, mafia, touch her and be unalived, forbidden, slow burn, letters, fmc with a skin condition, mmc that is unhinged and has full conversations with the voice in his head…pure crack and completely addicting! I loved the forbidden aspect of Zahara and Massimo being step-siblings plus the age gap. The plot was intriguing and kept me on my toes with the twists. These two were perfect for each other and two of my favorite characters of this series! I don’t want to give too much away but this is a must read if you are a lover of mafia romances!

I wish I could have given it 5
“Sweet Prison” has some engaging elements but ultimately falls short of its full potential. Massimo and Zahara are compelling characters, and their chemistry sizzles with intensity. However, the story is bogged down by excessive details that don’t add much to the overall plot. The pacing is another issue—the main characters don’t meet in person until more than halfway through the book, which makes the first half feel like a slow buildup with little payoff. As a fan of the author’s previous works, I had high hopes, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Still, there’s some enjoyable heat between the leads for those who can stick it out.

    OMG, SO GOOD!
I waited for this one and she delivered. I’ve loved all the books in the series. Each one gets better and more! The storytelling never disappoints. It’s spice with interesting, complex characters and a great story. The perfect mix!!

  7. by Love to read.

    Vitiligo
First time I read a book with a FMC that has vitiligo and it was a great reading this one. Neva gives the femenine leading lady a great strenght along the book. The chemistry with Massimo is off charts. But despite the warnings this one was not a forbidden love FMPOV. He is the stepbrother with no blood ties with Zahara. So all good there. Nice reading.

    another hit!
This is probably my most favorite mafia series ever. I have loved every book so far and Sweet Prison was just as awesome as the rest. Nothing better than a psychotic possessive (maybe possessed?) hero who loves his lady as mu ch ad these guys so. Massimo definitely lived up to the hype. And I’m so glad Zahara got her hea and was able to hold her head high. I love that there were funny parts mixed in with the action and schmexy times. With a good story that kept me captivated from page one to the very end. Can’t wait for the next one!!

I couldn’t put this book down. So good, I think it’s one of my favorites but really all Neva’s books are the best. So addicting. Love it.It’s multi pov and follows the relationship of Zahara and Massimo from the beginning spanning many years and I think that’s what sets this particular book apart in the series. And of course mentions of or involvement of characters from previous books and hints for the next.

Following on from Kai and Neras’ book, we pick up the story of Massimo and Zahara. The development of the relationship is a beautiful, slow burn – turning from cunning manipulation to all-out devotion – it’s an emotive read.If you read two books in what’s left of 2024 or even 2025, it needs to be these two.Neva Altaj was a chance discovery for me a couple of months ago, but man, am i glad i found her. Whilst you could read them in any order you wish – they do have interconnection with other characters popping up – I’d advise you to read them in the order they are written for maximum enjoyment. You have 10 breathtaking books to go at.Neva Altaj was a chance discovery for me and as someone who suffers the same affliction as Drago, it’s awsome to read a characters struggle and how they adapt to life with a disability – in what ever form it takes. Thank you for making your books inclusive so that the anti-hero is as messed up as the rest of us.

I‘ve waited so long for this story and I immediately fell in love. The FMC is extraordinary changing-to the better and you can sense all the feelings in her. The MMC is just pefectly imperfect as well. These two are made for each other and Neva Altaj has me in awe all over again.I‘ve read this book in one session and it brought so much heartache and joy – i felt it in my guts. I think I have to reread it any time soon!
